Are you a married woman aged 22 to 45 and aware of the impact your actions have on the environment? Caring for the environment takes more than just a mere wishful thinking. It’s about setting a good example and looking at the steps – big or small – you can take in your everyday environment to live a more sustainable “green” lifestyle as it’s about campaigning zealously about the importance of preserving and protecting the earth. If this describes you, the Mrs South Africa Green is looking for you.
After much deliberation by the organizers and sponsors alike, the Mrs South Africa Green is ready to undertake an exciting new journey, with a refreshed vision, leadership and a complete new brand strategy. Previously known as Mrs South Africa Earth, event owners (Thando Soko, Ndihone Nevhutali, Ntsoaki and Fay Ngobeni) are pleased to introduce to you, the newly refreshed Mrs South Africa Green.
Officially launched during an exclusive ceremony in March, 2019, the Mrs South Africa Green will embark on their first regional activation tour for call to entry and information sessions at the Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, Pretoria on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Registration for those wishing to enter the competition opened on the Mrs South Africa Green’s website this week – ahead of the upcoming May 18 activation. On the day (activation day), the Mrs South Africa Green team will be out in full force to engage with those interested to enter and wish to know more about the competition. Married South African women aged 22 to 45 who are “pretty green at heart” will get the opportunity to ask answer questions pertaining to the beauty pageant and the opportunities they stand to gain should they enter.

About Mrs South Africa Green
The Mrs South Africa Green hopes to become the country’s most revered female empowerment program for ‘green’ conscious married women in South Africa. While the pageant will gather together beautiful married women from across the country to compete for a crown, it is not a beauty pageant in the traditional sense of the word, but rather a platform for those with a keen interest in creating a better, more eco-friendly ‘planet South Africa’. In line with its ‘Pretty Down to Earth and Pretty Green’ tag line, the Mrs South Africa Green aims to become a one-stop eco living advocacy platform for sustainable living – from green living to conserving water and energy as well as protecting wildlife and saving plastic pollution.
Says Thando Soko, co-founder of the Mrs South Africa Green: “The main mission of Mrs South Africa Green is to promote the importance of saving our planet environmentally, and consequently, married South African women looking to raise their voices to help the earth are all welcomed to enter the competition.”
Soko adds: “In addition to helping protect the environment, we are going to use the pageant as a platform to showcase the ecotourism aspects of our beautiful country by way of sensitizing the rest of South African citizens and international visitors alike about the importance of sustainable travel. What we are saying to them is that ‘please be conscious of the impact of the places you visit and how your travels and adventures can be utilized to positively change the lives of local people not only environmentally, but economically as well.”
