Absa and Goo Goo partner for special ticket access

Absa and Goo Goo team up to give fans access to the iconic American rock band's exclusive SA tour tickets pre-sale.

Absa has announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with multi-platinum, four-time Grammy-nominated rock band Goo Goo to give fans exclusive ticket access ahead of their upcoming first official tour to South Africa in December.

Absa is offering its customers “exclusive unforgettable experiences and benefits, with an exclusive 72-hour window to purchase tickets ahead of the public ticket sales”, the company said via a statement sent to NOWinSA.

Absa customers can take advantage of this special pre-sale period starting from June 24 at 9am, through to the next morning of June 27. During this period, tickets can be purchased exclusively through Webtickets using an Absa card. No other forms of payment will be accepted during the pre-sale period, it further said.

Ticket sales are limited to 10 tickets per customer, per venue during the Absa pre-sale window to provide a fair chance to all customers who wish to take advantage of the benefit.

“This collaboration reflects our dedication to offering value for money by curating memorable experiences and offering exclusive benefits to our loyal customers,” Alicia Raynard, head of Absa Reward said, adding: “As part of its social responsibility and brand positioning, Absa has also committed support for the local arts and entertainment industry.”

Founded in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls have attained mainstream success with smash hits such as ‘Name‘, ‘Black Balloon‘, ‘Slide‘ and 18 weeks on the Billboard top 100 with ‘Iris‘.

The three-day tour launches on December 4 at the Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town before heading to the Durban International Convention Centre the next day on December 5. It closes out at the Voortrekker Monument on December 7.

Supporting acts include South Africa’s owned renowned musical greats Just Jinger, Matthew Mole, Roan Ash, and Ross Learmonth.

General public ticket sales will open immediately after the Absa customer pre-sale period.
