A proudly South African mass participation road running series, the Absa Run Your City Series has been revolutionising the sport since 2015. The series comprises five unique events in Qgeberha, (launched in 2023), Cape Town (launched in 2015), the Durban (launched in 2017), Tshwane (launched in 2023) and Joburg 10K (launched in 2016).
For the first time this year, the Absa Run Your City race welcomed the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) as the official charity for the entire series of events in the participating cities.
A non-profit leader in the fight against cancer since 1931, CANSA enables research, educates the public and advocates for and supports all people affected by cancer, while leading SA towards a cancer-free society. When entering an Absa Run Your City Series event online, runners can show their support by donating towards CANSA.
- Winners: Kenyans Diana Chepkorir and Vincent Langat took charge of the Women’s and Men’s #AbsaRunYourCity CapeTown 10KM races respectively from start to finish to emerge victorious – just as they did in Gqeberha a month earlier.
