These are just some of the varied raving reviews Deon Meyer’s top seller ‘Trackers‘ continues to receive 8 years after its release.
So it comes as no surprise that Meyer’s mind-blowing book-to-screen adaptation would go on to shatter local viewership records, thus becoming the most watched show on M-Net in 2019.
Average viewership per episode have outperformed not only local shows in all genres on M-Net (DStv 101). The series has beat out international favourites, including Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies, Chernobyl, The Big Bang Theory and The Enemy Within.
Furthermore, Trackers is currently trending at the top of the charts across various platforms, including both DStv Now and Showmax – before even completing its run on Sunday, November 24.
“We are over the moon about Trackers’ phenomenal performance to date,” says Yolisa Phahle, Multichoice CEO of General Entertainment, adding: “We set out to create a trailblazing, high-end production that would enthral our MultiChoice customers as well as global audiences.”
Shining the spotlight on SA’s magnificent acting talent, the series is led by Sisanda Henna, whose chilling performance as ruthless villain, Inkunzi, has already landed him a leading role opposite Megan Fox in the forthcoming film Rogue.
James Gracie, Avital Lvova, Thapelo Mokoena and Emmanuel Castis play major roles in the mini-series.
