Heartwarming acts of kindness: Big Brother Mzansi S4 star champions dignity and education for SA’s needy schoolchildren

Big Brother Mzansi Season 4 contestant Lerato Modise champions dignity and education for impoverished schoolchildren in South Africa through her REMLEE Foundation. Find out how she puts her fame and fortune to noble use in this heartwarming story.

In a world where fame and fortune often eclipse the needs of those less fortunate, Lerato Modise has managed to inspire and give hope to many.

The former Big Brother Mzansi contestant (S4) now channels the fame she gained during her stay in the house into anything that will bring change into the lives of needy school children in South Africa.

Through her REMLEE Foundation, Modise is not just giving out essential school supplies to those who need them most; she’s restoring dignity, empowering young minds, and instilling hope within underprivileged communities.

By addressing both tangible needs and intangible barriers to education, Lerato Modise ensures that no learner – like those at Manzini Primary and Vosloorus Comprehensive – is held back by their circumstances.

This week, Modise, fondly known as “Miss Robot” by the children she works with, partnered with Naledi Chamane of StarCham Faith Foundation to bring relief and donate school shoes to impoverished learners at Manzini Primary School in Sunrise.Together, they believe that putting faith in the youth and children requires a nation to take responsibility in shaping a healthier, brighter future.

The initiative, she explains, “is aimed at providing support and restoring dignity to young pupils from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring that they can walk confidently into their classrooms, ready to focus on education without the burden of torn or ill-fitting footwear.”

Meanwhile, at Vosloorus Comprehensive School, the foundation provided “Divinity Packs”, which included essential hygiene products such as sanitary pads, face cloths, toothbrushes, roll-on deodorant, and body lotion, ensuring learners’ well-being and dignity. These packs are more than just supplies; they are tools of empowerment, allowing students—especially young girls—to attend school with confidence and dignity.
