Her Majesty reigns supreme: from reality TV star to beauty empire builder

She's back, bolder than ever! Happy Simelane, aka Her Majesty, is conquering the beauty world with her luxurious brand and empowering franchise opportunities.

Happy Simelane, affectionately known as Her Majesty, first graced our screens in the inaugural season of ‘The Mommy Club‘. Now, she’s back for the third season, and she’s not the same woman we met a few years ago.

“I’ve undergone a tremendous transformation,” she says. “Back then, I was still navigating the challenges of motherhood, loss, and self-discovery. I was more reserved, trying to figure out who I was as a person and a mom to my three lovely daughters.”

Today, Simelane is a picture of confidence and self-assurance. “Motherhood has taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of self-care,” she explains. “I’ve also learned to prioritise my own needs, set healthy boundaries, and communicate more effectively.”

Simelane’s return to the Showmax Original production, ‘The Mommy Club‘, was not a foregone conclusion. Rumors swirled about her uncertainty, but ultimately, she decided to come back. “I’d say what ultimately convinced me to come back was the opportunity to share my growth, showcase my passions, and connect with the audience on a deeper level,” she reveals. “And let’s be honest, what’s “The Mommy Club‘ without Her Majesty?”

Of course, no reality show is complete without a little drama, and Simelane had her fair share. “The drama! (laughs),” she exclaims. “Well, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve learned from those experiences and I’m approaching this season with a different mindset. I’m focusing on building meaningful relationships, supporting my fellow cast members, and being a positive influence.”

But don’t mistake her newfound maturity for a lack of spice. “I’m still going to be unapologetically myself, and if that means stirring up some drama, then so be it!” she tells us. “But, I think viewers will see a more mature and introspective side of me this season.”

Happy Simelane’s lifelong vision: empowering women to feel like royalty

Beyond the show, Her Majesty has been busy building her own empire. Her Majesty Beautique, a luxury beauty and wellness brand, is her latest venture. “It’s my passion project,” she shares. “It’s all about royalty and making women feel like the queens they are!”

The venture offers a range of high-end products and services, all designed to help women feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. “I’ve always been passionate about beauty and self-care, and I’m thrilled to bring this vision to life,” she says.

But her ambitions don’t stop there. She’s also expanding Her Majesty Beautique through franchising. “Yes, I’ve learned from my past experiences, and I can assure you that we’ve put robust systems in place to ensure the success and security of business franchise model,” she affirms.

The franchise model is designed to be a win-win for everyone involved, with rigorous vetting processes, thorough training programs, and ongoing support systems. “Our goal is to create a win-win situation for everyone involved, and we’re committed to transparency, accountability, and open communication throughout the entire process,” she explains.

And it seems her vision is resonating as she hosted a “Franchise Information Get Together” launch event on Saturday, February (2025), at the Saint Andrew Hotel and Spa in Bedfordview. The event was a resounding success, with Brakpan, Sandton, Fourways, Boksburg, and Alberton already reserved for franchises. “The sisterhood could be felt in that room and for that, we are truly grateful,” the mother of three shared. “So far, Brakpan, Sandton, Fourways, Boksburg and Alberton have been reserved and these lovely ladies now form part of our Founders Circle! We now only have three spots left….so get in touch with our team.”

A vision for African women: exclusivity and empowerment

Simelane’s vision for the business extends beyond just creating a successful business. The Johannesburg-born-and-raised reality TV star and businesswoman sees a gap in the market for a brand that specifically caters to the needs of African women, while remaining inclusive and welcoming to all.

This, coupled with her own experience of overcoming setbacks in business, fuels her desire to empower other women to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams and create valuable employment opportunities. “It was not a set intention to franchise the business but Happy is a womens’ woman, you know, and wants to give as many women as possible the opportunity to grow and own their own businesses,” she explains.

With The Mommy Club, Her Majesty Beautique, and a rapidly growing franchise network, Happy Simelane is a force to be reckoned with. She’s an inspiration to women everywhere, proving that it’s possible to balance motherhood, business, and personal growth. And she’s just getting started.
