Update (January 13, 2026): This guide has been refreshed to reflect the official 2026 release schedule for the Class of 2025 results. We have removed the outdated Gauteng Matric Results (GMR) app as it is no longer operational and replaced it with Accredited Media Platforms, following the December 2025 High Court ruling that clarified the legality of publishing results under POPIA.
After a legal battle concluded in the Pretoria High Court in December 2025, the the courts affirmed the department’s process. This allows the DBE to continue the long-standing practice of publishing matric results in national newspapers, alongside digital platforms.
For the Class of 2025 and their families, here’s everything you need to know to access the results.
Where and how to access your results
1. Visit your school or exam centre
The official statement of results will be available at the school or centre where you wrote your exams from Tuesday, January 13, 2026, when schools open. This remains one of the most reliable and secure ways to get your results
As many will recall, last year a company, Edumarks, was arrested by the Hawks and charged for illegally sold the 2024 matric results ahead of their official release. Matriculants are therefore strongly advised to rely only on verified, official platforms to avoid scams and similar fraudulent schemes.
