IF YOU ARE one of the many entrepreneurs interested in getting a stake in the soaring marijuana business, you sure don’t want to miss the much anticipated cannabis expo in Cape Town early next month. The largest of its kind across the rest of the African continent, The Cannabis Expo in South Africa, a trade and consumer exhibition dedicated to the cannabis industry, is scheduled to take place in Sun Exhibits, GrandWest from April 4 to 7.
One of the most exciting and fastest-growing industries to be in, cannabis is making waves globally across various business spectrums. According to a recent study by Global Market Insights Inc, the marijuana industry is projected to hit the $55 billion mark by 2024. Better still, the highest levels of cannabis production in the world is said to be found on the African continent, estimated at roughly 25% of global production. In fact, one study by Interpol estimates that South Africa is the world’s fourth largest producer of cannabis.
As it’s the case in many parts of Europe, Marijuana has been gaining in support across the country, following the legalization of private pot use by the Constitutional Court last October.
As such, the economic benefits of cannabis can not be over-emphasized, thus making this exhibition a must attend for those looking to explore legal cannabis opportunities.
Leading cannabis experts on the bill
The Cannabis Expo will include an exhibitor hall, networking and entertainment spaces, a convention stage and workshop that will host local and international experts from across the industry.
Sarah Howarth, the expo’s sales director, says South Africa is expected to become one of the largest cannabis industry marketplaces in the world. All thanks to an increasingly supportive legislation, outstanding and unusual landscapes, and the unique cultural diversity, all which make the country a destination of choice for international travelers.
“The Cannabis Expo is the perfect platform for international and local medical health professionals, agricultural providers and lifestyle brands to engage with industry experts and the public around this versatile plant,” Howarth goes on to say.
