Russ, real name Russell Vitale, will join British indie pop rock supergroup, The 1975, along with some of South Africa’s top performing artists.
After building a loyal following as an independent act known for being the “jack of all trades” – from rapping, singing and songwriting to producing, mixing and mastering, Russ became an overnight sensation commercially after the success of his hit two singles, ‘What They Want’ and ‘Losin’ Control’ in 2017.
Off his debut There’s Really A Wolf, which went platinum, the songs were the first to be released under Columbia Records, his major label debut.
There’s Really A Wolf, debuted at No. 7 on all-genre Billboard 200 album charts in the same year (2017), propelling him to 1 billion audio streams.
Last year, the 26 year old made it to the “Cash Kings” list after Forbes ranked him on their 2018 list of highest paid hip hop acts world-wide. He tied with Swizz Beatz and Meek Mill for the 20th spot with earnings of $15 million.
From a Soundcloud sensation to blowing up the stage at Coachella 2018, Russ will now head to South Africa for the first time to perform live at the 2019 edition of Rocking the Daisies.
Festival tickets and camping passes for the 14th edition of Daisies are now on sale and available on www.RockingtheDaisies.com.
