Galaxy S21 FE (5G) early January launch couldn’t have come at a better time as the appetite for the Samsung Galaxy S series continues to be at its peak – ahead of the hotly awaited S22 February 9 debut.
The device has received glowing reviews overall, with many citing their satisfaction with its pro-grade camera quantity and lasting 4,500mAh battery, as our first impression/review of the device points out here.
And if the Twitter reaction / thread at the end of this article is anything to go by, we clearly aren’t the only one totally stoked about S21 FE’s super smooth scrolling function. Users and critics alike are too giving this particular feature unflinching nod over others.
Sporting a 6.4″ flat FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display (2400×1080) with a refresh rate of 120Hz, the S21 FE has the best display one can get on a smartphone.
Developed in partnership with 20th Century Fox, the display is HDR10+ certified to enable lifelike color, and similar details of 4K UHD (although this will drain your battery)..
Instead of static metadata employed by HDR10, it uses dynamic metadata, meaning the phone can adjust color and brightness levels on a scene-by-scene or even frame-by-frame basis.
This makes it a breeze to consume butter smooth content from premium streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play Movies, Hulu and Paramount+.
However, since it’s still in beta, you’ll need to enable HDR10+ in the Camera app setting of their Galaxy S21 FE, and then tap the ‘advance options’ feature under ‘videos’. Then you’re good to go.
What people say: S21 FE hot favourite feature
“I’d buy S21 FE for the display alone,” TechSpace Africa editor Nigel JR shared on Twitter … but there’s more (user reasons)!
