Mercedes-Benz SA and Springboks winger Mapimpi partner to empower Eastern Cape youths

Makazole Mapimpi Foundation and Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) unveil a strategic community development partnership to uplift youth people in the Eastern Cape through sport and education.

Eastern Cape – The Makazole Mapimpi Foundation (MMF), an NPO seeking to address inequities in access to youth sports, as well as music and cultural activities has entered into a new partnership with Mercedes Benz SA to foster a sense of belonging and acceptance for all young people in the Eastern Cape have equal opportunities to participate and enjoy recreational activities.

The Foundation will embark on a roll out of the initiatives in the Eastern Cape in the coming months, with a view to expand its initiatives and impact in other parts of South Africa.

“We are thrilled to partner with Mercedes-Benz South Africa in our mission to empower the youth and build stronger communities,” the Springboks rugby player Makazole Mapimpi said about the partnership, adding: “Together, we will harness the power of collaboration to drive meaningful change and create opportunities for the next generation.”

Aligning with Mercedes-Benz’s Corporate Social Investment’s mission which aligns itself with governmental priorities in creating an educated, empowered and economically independent community as a whole, the partnership will ensure inclusive sports participation for all, regardless of one’s background.

“We see immense value in supporting the dreams and aspirations of our young people and through the collaboration, we hope to provide the resources and opportunities needed for success. Our journey with the Foundation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to social responsibility and making a real difference where it matters most,” Abey Kgotle, Mercedes-Benz SA executive director for Human Resources & Corporate Affairs said.
