Cognac brand Hennessy returns as the title partner for South Africa’s annual Back to the City hip hop festival. This enduring partnership showcases Hennessy’s commitment to shaping the landscape of urban music and culture in South Africa.
Set for Saturday, October 12 (2024) at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg, this year’s festival promises unforgettable live performances from the likes of American rapper Benny The Butcher, Kikky Badass from Zimbabwe and Mzansi’s own Nadia Nakai, Nasty C, Blxckie, Stogie T, Big Zulu, Ginger Trill. Priddy Ugly and Kane Keid.
Featuring over 100 artists, 60 stalls and many cool activities to enjoy, Hennessy’s involvement in the festival is integral to its identity, bringing together music, art, and culture in a way that resonates deeply with the community.

The brand is thrilled to announce that local rapper and songwriter Maglera Doe Boy, a friend of the brand and a standout performer from the recent Hennessy Africa Cypher, will be taking the stage at this year’s festival.
