How to play Daily Lotto: In store, online or with a banking app
Daily Lotto costs R3 per board. Pick five numbers from 1 to 36. Draws run nightly at 9pm, with sales closing at 8:30pm.
- In store: Use a paper slip or Quick Pick at a registered retailer and pay cash. Multi-draw plays the same numbers across several draws, saving return trips.
- Online: Register on the National Lottery website or mobile app. Tickets are stored digitally, and winnings up to R249,999.99 pay out automatically. You must pass identity checks and load your wallet first.
- Banking app: FNB, Standard Bank, Capitec, Absa and Nedbank offer Daily Lotto through their apps and on USSD (*120#). There is no new account or FICA process, and winnings go straight to your bank account.
The banking app option offers convenience and speed. Payouts are automatic, and you can replay past tickets with one tap.
Digital players can also land major jackpots. A mystery Capitec app user won R65 million in the final 2025 Lotto draw.
The draws use a random number generator, so no playing platform improves your odds.
