Thursday’s Daily Lotto winning numbers

The winning numbers for Thursday, October 8 are:

05 – 17 – 21 – 30 – 34

One player matched all five numbers and won R474,826.90 in Division 1.

A further 373 players matched four numbers to win R363.70 each in Division 2.

Division 3 produced 11,016 winners, with each receiving R18.40 for matching three numbers.

Another 108,187 entries matched two numbers in Division 4, paying R5.00 each.

The draw generated R2,795,484.00 in total sales, with R1,356,648.38 allocated to the prize pool. There was no rollover, with the rollover amount recorded as R0.00.

How to play Daily Lotto and when it is drawn

A Daily Lotto board costs R3, including VAT. Players select five numbers from 1 to 36, or use Quick Pick to have numbers generated automatically.

Up to five boards can be played on a ticket, while multi-draw options allow players to enter more than one draw at a time.

Entries are available through authorised National Lottery retailers, National Lottery Online, the mobile app, participating banking apps and USSD by dialling *120*7529#.

Players must be 18 or older to participate.

The Daily Lotto draw takes place every day at 9pm, including weekends and public holidays. Ticket sales close at 8.30pm.

Entries made after the cut-off go into the following day’s draw. Daily Lotto does not have a bonus ball.

How long do you have to claim a Daily Lotto prize?

National Lottery winners have 365 days from the draw date to claim a prize.

The countdown starts on the day of the draw, meaning a ticket that is not claimed by the deadline becomes void.

Unclaimed winnings are transferred to the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, which supports social and community causes.

Prizes below R50,000 can generally be collected from authorised retailers.

Players who bought entries through participating digital platforms may also receive qualifying winnings automatically through their online banking app or digital wallet.

Prizes above R50,000 must be claimed in person at a Sizekhaya Holdings regional office.

Winners need the original ticket, official identification and proof of banking. Verification is generally completed within 72 hours.
