South African rap star Sho Madjozi joins esteemed Epic Records (USA) roster

Sho Madjozi joins an esteemed roster of American superstars such as Travis Scott, DJ Khaled, Sade and Future at Epic Records and becomes the only South African to be signed to the North American label.

The ‘John Cena’ hitmaker announced the news on social media on Tuesday as captured in the Twitter message below:

About the new deal, Chairman and CEO Sylvia Rhone was quoted by Variety as saying: “African artists are enjoying an unprecedented level of visibility in music and Sho Madjozi is beautifully waving the flag for South Africa. She’s bold, brilliant and remarkably talented and her music embodies all that is special about her homeland.  We’re honored to have her as the newest member of the Epic family.”

In further helping expand the global footprint of the 2018 BET award winning songstress, Epic Records will work closely with the label’s sister company, the Johannesburg-based Sony Music Entertainment Africa, led by managing director Sean Watson.
