Fast-rising Chinese automaker JETOUR has officially launched its new T1 SUV in Egypt, hosting a high-profile ceremony at the foot of the Pyramid of Khufu.
Celebrating both design and cultural synergy, the event drew Egyptian government ministers, Chinese officials, and superstar Tamer Hosny, cementing the T1 as a bold new player in Africa’s booming SUV market.
The launch also included the announcement of a major sponsorship deal with Egyptian football giants Al Ahly Club, marking a strategic merger of sports and auto culture under JETOUR’s global “Travel +” brand philosophy.
A rising force with award-winning design
The JETOUR T1, a lite off-road SUV, is built with more than 85% high-strength steel, a rugged yet modern design, and a class-leading cabin layout. It features the intelligent TOUR OS 2.0 system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips, ensuring smooth, tech-rich driving. Its boxy silhouette and versatility won it the prestigious Red Dot Award—known as the “Oscar of Design.”
JETOUR’s momentum continues to grow, with over 1.7 million vehicles sold globally and 560,000 units moved in 2024 alone, representing a staggering 80% year-on-year growth.

Built in Africa, for Africa
Beyond the product itself, the Egypt launch signifies JETOUR’s firm commitment to localization and industry collaboration. The company signed a KD (knock-down kit) agreement with Egypt’s Kasrawy Group, paving the way for local assembly, job creation, and knowledge exchange. The brand’s “In Somewhere, For Somewhere” strategy is now taking physical form through barter trade models and regional manufacturing.
“JETOUR listens to the world’s stories,” said Dai Lihong, President of JETOUR Auto. “We aim to build world-class vehicles using world-class tech, for global journeys. Our goal is simple: to make the world fall in love with JETOUR.”
Football meets off-road
JETOUR’s new partnership with Al Ahly, widely regarded as the most successful football club in Africa, reflects a deliberate alignment with Egypt’s national passion. With over 80 million fans and 12 CAF Champions League titles, the “Red Devils” offer JETOUR unrivaled brand reach across Egypt and beyond.
As official core sponsor, JETOUR will gain branding rights at Al Ahly home matches, use of player images, and high-impact vehicle displays at stadiums, forging an emotional bond with fans and potential buyers.
Is South Africa the next stop?
With a strong foothold in North Africa, it’s only natural that JETOUR’s attention may soon shift toward South Africa, one of the continent’s largest auto markets. Known for its love of off-road-ready vehicles, South Africa could be a prime match for the T1’s capabilities and design ethos.
JETOUR’s global “Travel +” message—which blends tech, mobility and adventure—also aligns well with South Africa’s emerging travel and exploration culture. If JETOUR follows through, South African drivers could soon have a stylish new off-road option in their showrooms.
