Johannesburg – Internationally renowned singer Celine Dion has cancelled her Courage World Tour that was scheduled to begin in August.
Organisers announced Friday that the ‘Courage World Tour’ has been cancelled, nearly six months after the 55-year-old singer revealed she had been diagnosed with a rare disease called Stiff Person Syndrome, which affects one in a million people. Dion said at the time the disorder was causing spasms that affect her ability to walk and sing.
“It is with tremendous disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the Courage World Tour,” organisers said.
Tickets purchased for the cancelled dates will be refunded via the original point of sale. Apologising to fans, Celine said: “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. “I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%.
“It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.
