Sizok’thola TV host arrested over drug dealer death

Moja Love ‘Sizokuthola’ Presenter Xolani Khumalo, who has been linked to the death of an alleged drug dealer, on Tuesday handed himself over to authorities at the Katlehong North Police Station.

Johannesburg – Moja Love ‘Sizok’thola‘ Presenter Xolani Khumalo, who has been linked to the death of an alleged drug dealer, on Tuesday handed himself over to the police.

Various media outlets are reporting that Khumalo handed himself over to authorities at the Katlehong North Police Station and was expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court later Tuesday.

Matters came to a head in July, earlier this year, when the channel raided the home of suspected drug dealer Robert ‘Kicks’ Varrie in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.

Varrie was declared dead at the Mogoerane Regional Hospital in Vosloorus after he had been interrogated during the filming of ‘Sizok’thola’ episode.

Commenting on the matter at the time of Varrie’s death, Nonzwakazi Cekete, Spokesperson for Siyaya TV, which owns Moja Love, said the show works with law enforcement agencies.

Cekete said: “Based on information currently at our disposal, we are advised that following a community tip-off the crew on 19 July 2023 attended to a drug bust in Katlehong, and did so in conjunction with community law enforcement groups, as is customary, that are recognised by the SA Police.
