The road to AFCON PAMOJA 2027 has officially begun.
CANAL+ and the Confédération Africaine de Football have confirmed an agreement putting the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers and tournament on SuperSport.
The deal will reach audiences across Sub-Saharan Africa — a move that comes only days after SuperSport confirmed Giants season two on Wethu+.
AFCON PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers already underway
Qualifying is already underway, with 48 nations drawn into 12 groups of four chasing 24 places at the AFCON PAMOJA 2027 finals.
Matchdays one and two run through to October 6, with the remaining rounds following in November 2026 and March 2027.
CANAL+ Africa chief executive David Mignot has been direct about what the deal means.
“We are thrilled to bring the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 Qualifiers and the tournament itself to SuperSport, giving football fans across the continent the opportunity to follow their national teams from the opening stages of qualification through to the biggest moments of the finals,” he says.
Mignot has also pointed to the tournament’s reach beyond the pitch.
“African football has an incredible ability to unite audiences across borders, languages and cultures,” he says.
He adds that “what makes this agreement particularly exciting is the journey”, which “starts now, with the qualifiers, and builds towards an historic AFCON in East Africa next year.”
For Mignot, the deal goes beyond simply showing matches.
“It is about bringing African football closer to African audiences and ensuring that fans can experience the stories, rivalries, national pride, and unforgettable moments that make the game so special,” he says.
He also notes that SuperSport remains committed to delivering “an exceptional football experience” to viewers.
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to host AFCON 2027
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will jointly host PAMOJA 2027 from June 19 to July 17, 2027.
It will be the first AFCON shared by three nations and marks the competition’s return to East Africa for the first time since Ethiopia hosted the tournament in 1976.

Bafana Bafana start AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign
Fans need not wait until next June to follow the action.
This weekend’s AFCON 2027 qualifying fixtures include Bafana Bafana facing Guinea in Pitso Mosimane’s first competitive match back in charge.
Other fixtures include Morocco v Gabon, Egypt v Angola, Kenya v Eritrea and Nigeria v Madagascar.
The campaign features continental stars including Mohamed Salah, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, while South Africa will lean on Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena and Relebohile Mofokeng.

CANAL+’s reach extends further, with the AFCON qualifiers broadcasting in French across more than 20 countries.
PAMOJA 2027 will also be accessible through entry-level packages.
