Hammanskraal born comedian, Tebogo Ntlhane, who is working on a new comedy sitcom, ‘Mama Meet the One‘ as well as, ‘Undiscovered’, a reality TV search for next fashion icons, is a busy man and it’s easy to see why.
If not rehearsing for his new role as Tshepo, and writing the script for the upcoming ‘Mama Meet The One‘ digital sitcom, you can find him preparing and distributing food parcels to the less fortunate in the busy streets of Kempton Park and Crystal Park in Benoni.
Along with his production team members, Tebogo Ntlhane, and the enterprising business woman Lynn Moonsamy-Raj, as well as Tshepo Tshabalala, CEO of Kgatso Funerals, the 26-year-old actor comedian swaped his fancy theater attire and got dirty as they joined hands to distribute over 50 food parcels to the needy.
Observing strict social distancing protocols, the team donated food parcels and toiletries to those who need them most in this trying times of coronavirus.
The charity drive was in memory of the passing of Moonsamy Raj’s late parents and forms part of many other acts of kindness the team is set to embark on in the coming months.
With COVID-19 taking its toll on individuals regardless of social status and class, it is the unemployed and the less fortunate that are the worst affected by the lockdown and it’s far-reaching economic consequences.
Ntlhane believes that if there’s ever a time to find a way to assist and help make a difference, that time is now.
“I know the feeling of not having food to eat or being maltreated by close friends and relatives. I have tasted rejection and failure, which is why giving back to those who are less fortunate I is such a fulfilling feeling,” he says.
Added Moonsamy-Raj: “Today’s activities were heart-warming, touching and gave me the best feeling ever since the passing of my father and mother, who died just 9 months apart in 2018 and 2019 respectively. To know that at the very least the people we gave the food parcels today would be able to feed their families for three days to a week as a result of our deeds, is simply priceless.”
For Tshabalala, the distribution of food parcels to the less fortunate has always been part of Kgatso Funerals’ social responsibility programmes.
“As a strategic partner of ‘Mama Meet the One’ sitcom, giving back and uplifting communities is what we do and today was no different,” he said.
The team’s next charity drive will be in Hammanskraal, which will see them donating sanitary pads and other essentials to the various schools in the area.

A 13-part-22-minute comedy series, ‘Mama, Meet The One’ follows Bianca and Tshepo, an interracial couple, as they introduce each other to their families.
