Booth Nightclub 8-year anniversary: entertainment highlights
In this article, Booth Group executive Tajudeen Abolore Jaji unpacks some of the venue’s biggest highlights to date.
Name three of your most memorable times at the club.
Our first anniversary was one of my greatest moments because that was the beginning of something great. We saw the success and growth of the venue greatly unfold in ways never imagined.
Another memorable moment was when we hosted Burna Boy at the venue, the reception was amazing, and he was a great person to host. Overall, Tuesday nights at Booth are always memorable because there isn’t any Tuesday like a Tuesday at Booth, which has paved the way for unparalleled nightlife and parting as a while.
Who have you hosted, internationally and locally?
As I indicated, we’ve the honour to host some of the biggest names in music locally and internationally, among them Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Kizz Daniel, 2Face and Flavour, as well as American rapper Bas, Jamaican artist Beanie Man, and many more.
What are the challenges of running a nightclub business?
The nightlife market is very competitive. Keeping the club relevant and attractive to customers requires constant innovation in terms of events, promotions, and overall atmosphere. Economic fluctuations have been one of the biggest challenges, but we try by all means to understand the needs and buying power of our clientele and we then align the business with those factors.
What is the misconception about the clubbing industry?
People love to have a great time, they love good music, socialising, and coming together. Based on, it becomes easy to have some misconceptions about the industry, one of them being that there is a lot of drug-dealing and money laundering, which us not always the case, especially not for us. As entertainment entrepreneurs, we respect our craft and value the type of business we are in, with a clear understanding that this where careers are built.
What are some of your highlights as a business and plans for the future?
Starting off as one entity which then gave birth to several outlets with the liquor space. We plan to grow the business further, create more employment, globalise the brand – we are also working on expanding into other parts of Africa.
