SRD mobile number update tool now available
SASSA has activated a major update on its SRD portal: beneficiaries can now change their registered mobile numbers online—but must complete biometric verification (e-KYC).
“COVID-19 SRD Clients can now update their mobile number on the SRD Website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za. Clients will be required to perform biometric verification (e-KYC) to complete the mobile number update.”
“Clients are advised to use a smartphone or computer with camera for a successful mobile number update,” SASSA added in its statement.
This means clients who lost phone access or changed numbers can finally update their contact details—essential for receiving OTPs, payment alerts, or login info.

Final SRD R370 payment dates – July 2025
The fJuly payment cycle for the COVID-19 SRD grant started on Friday, July 26 and will continue this week as follows :
- Monday, July 29
- Tuesday, July 30
“If your SASSA status shows Approved, then you can receive the R370 payment on the following days,” the agency previously confirmed.
Payment Notes:
- Payments reflect within 2–3 working days, depending on your bank
- Delays may occur if dates fall on public holidays
- Always verify your status before expecting funds

Why some beneficiaries still face delays
SASSA has identified common problems:
- ❌ Incorrect or outdated banking details
- 📱 Lost access to mobile numbers (now fixable online)
- 🟡 “Referred” status (requires Home Affairs identity check)
- ❌ “Self-exclusion” status if income exceeds R624/month
“There are 80 to 90% chances that your SASSA application will be approved under this [‘Referred’] status,” SASSA said.
