Mamelodi Sundowns have opened a six-point lead at the top of the Betway Premiership, while Kaizer Chiefs and several other sides face important weekend tests.
The extended round of Betway Premiership fixtures began Wednesday, when Sundowns beat Siwelele 3-0 at Loftus Versfeld.
The victory took the defending champions to 19 points from seven matches. Orlando Pirates sit second on 13 points.
Siwelele remain 15th with two points from six games and are still searching for their first league win.
After Friday’s Stellenbosch FC-Sekhukhune United clash, the action continues with six matches across Saturday and Sunday.

Chiefs face another tough test
Kaizer Chiefs travel to Polokwane on Saturday sitting third on 11 points from five matches.
They remain unbeaten.
Polokwane City, meanwhile, occupy 10th place on six points and will look to make home advantage count.

Sundowns take momentum to East London
Sundowns have little time to celebrate their midweek win.
They will travel to face Chippa United at Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday evening, with kick-off at 17:30.
The champions remain unbeaten after seven league matches, winning six and drawing one. Chippa are still searching for their first victory and sit 12th with four points.
That makes this a difficult assignment for the hosts. Sundowns, however, will start as favourites after extending their winning run with the victory over Siwelele.

Sunday brings pressure at both ends
Sunday starts with fifth-placed Milford FC hosting Richards Bay.
Milford have eight points from six matches. Richards Bay have three from five and sit 13th.
Siwelele then return to action against Golden Arrows in Bloemfontein. Arrows are ninth on six points, while Siwelele need a response after their midweek defeat.
The final fixture sees TS Galaxy host bottom side Kruger United at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.
Galaxy have six points from five games. Kruger have managed just one point.
With the table still tightly packed behind Sundowns, another busy weekend could reshape both the top-four race and the battle at the bottom.
