The Galaxy A53 5G maybe cheaper than its predecessor, A52, yet it promises to deliver a complete package of the latest Galaxy innovations, offering a holistic mobile experience synomous with the exceptional S22 counterparts.
Unveiled during its Awesome Galaxy A Event on Thursday, March 17, the newly released A53 5G costs R8,495, which is slightly affordable compared to its older sibling, currently selling for R8,999, and given the many hardware improvements the latest range comes with, not to mention the long-term software/security support, it definitely offers good value for money.
Powered with Samsung’s Exynos 1280 5nm processor (instead of the Qualcomm processor) – which is reportedly similar to MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 – expansive 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a smoother 120Hz refresh rate, 64MP OIS Camera, supposed two-day 5,000mAh battery life with 25W fast-charging support and a stylish, slim design, the Galaxy A53 5G – along with its lower sibling (the 6.4-inch A33 5G with a 90Hz refresh rate) will make it easier than ever for mid-level smartphone users to enjoy Galaxy’s advanced, innovative mobile experience.
Furthermore it comes with four years of Android updates and five years of security updates to the Galaxy A53 5G, a year longer than it did for the Galaxy A52 5G. These are same the software update consumers get if they purchase any of the Galaxy S22 series.
Not only that, both the Galaxy A53 and A33 feature 5G connectivity, an eco-conscious design, as well as advanced connected experiences.
“We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the positive impact mobile technology can have on their lives,” said TM Roh, President and head of Samsung Electronics’ MX (Mobile eXperience) Business. “With the latest Galaxy A series release, we’re making it easier than ever to enjoy Galaxy’s advanced, innovative mobile experience.”

All thanks to the new 5nm processor, the new Galaxy A series’ innovative AI-powered camera makes every image look clearer – even in low lighting. Improved Night mode automatically synthesises up to 12 images at once, so night photos look bright, with less noise.
