Love is Hip Hop Concert to showcase the best of South African hip hop

Described as the biggest gathering of South Africa's hottest hip hop and R&B acts under one roof, the inaugural Love is Hip Hop Concert is set to showcase the rapidly growing African trap, with BET winner Sjava as the headline act

FOR RALLthings related to Mzansi showbiz and the rapidly growing African trap music scene, a mixture of dance music and hip hop with a touch of Africa, you definitely don’t want to miss the upcoming Love is Hip Hop Concert in Pretoria next month. This one of its kind music concert, which showcases the best of South African hip hop as it keeps getting exciting, is set to rock the Tshwane music scene with an unparalleled mega star line up of local performers.

Renowned for providing an unprecedented platform for upscale international and local acts, the state-of-the-art Sun Arena has been announced as the host venue for the inaugural Love is Hip Hop Concert, set for Friday, May 31. The show organisers fittingly describe the concert as “the biggest gathering of South Africa’s hottest hip hop and R&B acts under one roof,” allowing fans to jam to their favourite artists at the dawn of winter.

Rapper Riky Rick on the bill

Headline acts include the multi Sama award winning rapper Kwesta, fan favourite Riky Rick, Idols SA 2013 winner Musa Sukwene and man of the moment, BET award winning Sjava. The much loved musos will be supported by an exclusive line-up of DJs in the likes of DJ Fish, Dinho Cafe, Liquid Metsi and Corry Da Groove.

Ticket pricing & availability

Tickets: Early bird tickets are available through Computicket, while the late adopters can alternatively purchase theirs at the gate on the day of the concert. Prices range from R200 for general access to R400 for golden circle. Sun International MVG’s members qualify for a 10% discount on tickets.

Show hours:  5.30pm to 9pm        

Parking: Pay at the venue parking is available at R20 per car
