Official SASSA November 2025 grant payment dates
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially confirmed payment dates for its November 2025 social grants, the eleventh disbursement of the year, following the October increase — the second raise implemented in 2025.
In its latest update, SASSA urged beneficiaries not to rush to collect on the first day, reminding them that funds will remain available in their accounts for withdrawal at any time.
“With the official dates for payments now out, SASSA has requested beneficiaries not to rush to collect on the first day, as funds will remain available in their accounts until needed,” the agency said in a statement.

Strong 2024/25 financial year performance
In its annual report presented to Parliament on October 8, 2025, SASSA outlined significant achievements and progress under the leadership of Minister of Social Development Sisisi Tolashe.
Minister Tolashe commended the department, SASSA, and the National Development Agency (NDA) for “turning the tide and improving the performance of the sector in the 2024/2025 financial year.”
“Other highlights for the year under review include the social assistance programme, which witnessed its largest expansion yet — reaching over 28 million eligible individuals. Of this number, more than 13.1 million are children who benefited from the Child Support Grant, while about 4.1 million older persons were recipients of the Old Age Grant,” said Minister Tolashe.
She revealed that SASSA spent R267 billion on social grants in 2024/25 — a 0.6% increase from the previous year — including over 9 million SRD beneficiaries.
“Realising the pledge to ensure that no one is left behind demands that we remain focused on our unwavering commitment to tackle child and adult poverty now and in the future,” she stressed.
Acting CEO Brenton Van Vrede added that the agency made great strides in tackling fraud and improving efficiency, finalizing 478 fraud cases, processing 1.8 million grant applications (exceeding the 1.6 million target), and achieving 98% processing efficiency for SRD applications.
“SASSA worked closely with the SAPS and the National Credit Regulator to arrest moneylenders illegally in possession of SASSA cards,” Van Vrede said. “We also finalized 336 out of 370 financial misconduct cases, dismissing 16 officials and suspending others without pay.”
Modernisation & biometric rollout
As part of its digital transformation agenda, SASSA continues to roll out biometric verification systems to enhance security and prevent identity theft — though not without challenges. The biometric rollout caused some delays earlier in the year, prompting the agency to refine its implementation plan to ensure smooth processing in future months.
