Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso: Multi-energy future revealed at Paris 2026

Alfa Romeo stuns Paris with the Cuorerosso concept, previewing a bold multi-energy line-up where “Necessary Beauty” meets pure driving emotion. Here’s what motorists can look forward to.

The Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso concept car has taken centre stage at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, offering a bold glimpse into the Italian marque’s vision for the future of motoring.

Unveiled in Paris on October 12, the concept combines distinctive Italian design, innovative technology and a driver-focused philosophy to signal a new chapter for the brand.

Its debut comes as the wider motoring scene continues to evolve, with manufacturers balancing electrification and technological advances against the emotional appeal of driving.

Rather than previewing one specific production model, Cuorerosso serves as a design manifesto for Alfa Romeo’s next generation of vehicles.

Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso sets the tone for future models

Built around the philosophy of “Necessary Beauty”, the concept strips away unnecessary elements to prioritise aesthetics, functionality, technology and quality.

Alfa Romeo says Cuorerosso explores new approaches to style, function and technology as the brand prepares for a new era of mobility.

“Cuorerosso sets out the future for Alfa Romeo: a manifesto that explores new languages of style, function, and technology,” the company said at the unveiling.

The concept is intended to influence a future multi-energy line-up, with flexible vehicle architectures designed to accommodate different powertrain solutions.

Future models could measure up to 4.7 metres long, allowing the brand to cater to different market segments without abandoning its performance-led identity.

However, Cuorerosso itself is not destined for production. Instead, its design language and underlying ideas will help shape Alfa Romeo’s future vehicles.

Edizione Luna Rossa celebrates Alfa Romeo’s racing spirit

Beyond the concept car, Alfa Romeo’s Paris exhibition celebrates its heritage through the new Edizione Luna Rossa special series.

The exclusive specification spans the Junior, Tonale, Giulia and Stelvio, bringing a distinctive aesthetic across the current model range.

The collection also reinforces Alfa Romeo’s partnership with Italian sailing team Luna Rossa ahead of the 38th America’s Cup in 2027.

The brand’s commitment to Italian styling and sporting character has long defined its appeal, from contemporary SUVs to performance-focused models such as the Alfa Romeo Tonale.

33 Stradale and classic Duetto bridge past and future

The exhibition also features the striking Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, presented in a configuration dedicated to Paris.

Its refined damask detailing around the Quadrifoglio emblem celebrates the historic relationship between Italy and France.

Meanwhile, the legendary 1966 Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider brings a touch of nostalgia to the display.

Borrowed from the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, the classic roadster celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026, linking the marque’s heritage with its evolving vision for future mobility.

Bottega Alfa Romeo offers a look inside Italian design

Visitors can also experience Bottega Alfa Romeo, an interactive, multi-sensory space that showcases the brand’s creative process and Italian craftsmanship.

The installation offers an insight into the thinking and techniques behind the marque’s design identity.

Cuorerosso has also earned recognition beyond the Alfa Romeo stand, featuring among Autoweek’s favourite cars from the 2026 Paris Auto Show.

It appeared alongside concepts including the Alpine A310 Vision, Peugeot E-T16 Concept and Citroën 2 CV Concept, as well as the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, which debuted in 2025.

Together, the exhibition and the concept’s reception underline Alfa Romeo’s ambition to evolve without losing the emotional connection at the heart of its identity.

For South African enthusiasts, the key question will be how soon the new design direction filters through to locally available models.

The concept offers a glimpse of what could come, but Alfa Romeo has not confirmed a specific South African launch date for vehicles inspired by Cuorerosso.
