Vuzu to broadcast the ‘One World: Together At Home’ live telecast

VUZU has secured rights for the live coverage of the unprecedented Lady Gaga curated 'One World: Together At Home' airing this Saturday to drive combined action to support healthcare workers and WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Launched by the international advocacy organization, Global Citizen and the World Health Organization (WHO), the global special brings together an unprecedented calibre of world stars on one stage on the day.

More than 100 of the world’s biggest names in music, television and sports form part of the mega lineup. This include the likes of The Rolling Stones, Alicia Keys, Amy Poehler, Elton John, Sam Smith, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, South Korean pop group SuperM (pictured), Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Shawn Mendes, Usher, Kerry Washington, Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Idris Elba, LL Cool J, Lupita Nyong’o, Chris Martin, David & Victoria Beckham, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day.

Nigeria’s Burna Boy and South Africa’s own include Black CoffeeSho Madjozi, Cassper Nyovest are also on the bill. 

Airing at 8pm on Vuzu (DStv 116), as well as Showmax on Saturday, April 18, the global telecast aims to celebrate and support healthcare workers in the forefront of COVID-19 outbreak. In addition to live music, the show will feature real-life experiences from doctors, nurses and families around the world.

One World: Together At Home‘ is not a telethon, but a historic, first-of-its kind global broadcast event to celebrate the heroic efforts of healthcare workers and to support the WHO in the global fight to end COVID-19.

The broadcast will feature a potpourri of awe-inspiring stories; from frontline healthcare workers on the COVID-19 response, commitments from philanthropists, governments and corporations, to local charities that provide food, shelter, and healthcare to those that need it most.
