Award-winning actor Michael B. Jordan will visit South Africa at the end of November to kick off his international publicity tour for Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures’ (MGM Pictures) and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Creed II. Jordan reprises the role of Adonis Creed in this continuation of the Rocky saga and sequel to the critically acclaimed and crowd-pleasing 2015 hit Creed, which took in more than $170 million at the worldwide box office. He also serves as an executive producer on the new film.
In Johannesburg, Jordan will meet with the press, together with his Creed II co-star Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu, who portrays Adonis’ fearsome opponent Viktor Drago, and director Steven Caple Jr. (The Land) on November 26. He will also greet fans at a special premiere event.
Creed II is distributed by Empire Entertainment and will arrive in South African cinemas on 30 November.
Creed II reunites Michael B. Jordan with Sylvester Stallone, who returns in the iconic role of Rocky Balboa. The film also stars Tessa Thompson as Bianca, Wood Harris as Tony “Little Duke” Burton, Russell Hornsby as Buddy Marcelle, with Phylicia Rashad as Mary Anne and Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago. Ryan Coogler, who directed Creed, is an executive producer on Creed II.
Steven Caple Jr. directs from a screenplay by Juel Taylor and Sylvester Stallone; story by Sascha Penn and Cheo Hodari Coker. The film is produced by Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Kevin King-Templeton, and Sylvester Stallone. The executive producers are Coogler, Michael B. Jordan and Guy Riedel. Creed II will be distributed theatrically in the U.S. by MGM Pictures on November 21, 2018, and Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film internationally, beginning in November.
