The River halts shooting after a positive COVID-19 case

The cast and crew of 1Magic’s popular telenovela, ‘The River’, have come together to offer support to a colleague who tested positive for COVID-19 early this week.

 Tshedza Pictures, the production house behind ‘The River’, has since halted shooting and all the cast and crew have been asked to self-isolate while the necessary health protocols are being implemented.

Phathu Makwarela of Tshedza Pictures said after news of the colleague testing positive were confirmed, “we immediately asked the cast and crew that came into contact with the member to go into self-isolation.

“They will soon avail themselves to health authorities for testing, in-line with government directives.”

Karabo Ntshweng embarks on a new Chapter with 5FM

Throughout her 17-year career as a broadcaster, media personality Karabo Ntshweng has proven to be a formidable force not afraid to use her voice to both entertain and stand up for what matters.

Karabo Ntshweng takes over the 5FM early morning weekday slot from June 8

Starting this Monday (June 8), the vivacious broadcaster will take the next big step of her career as she joins the 5FM team, where she will host the 4am to 6am early morning slot.

Ntshweng kicked off her career on SABC 1’s popular youth television programme YOTV, which groomed her into the formidable host she is today.

Excited about the excting adventure ahead, she said: “5FM has always kept their finger on the pulse of all things South African youth. As someone who is passionate about matters that affect young people in our country and growing local music, I can’t think of a better fit.”

On what listeners can expect from the show, the vivacious presenter – who spent the past seven years hosting various shows on Johannesburg based radio 947 – is well aware that being the first voice people hear as they wake up in the morning comes with great responsibility.

As such the show “will bring some positive energy, fantastic tunes, and content that will give listeners the perfect kick to start their day,” she said.

Channel O extends the Lockdown House Party due to popular demand

In the past few weeks Channel O kept has viewers entertained and showed how Shimza and PH teamed up with their friends to bring house music fans the biggest #LockdownHouseParty ever – in the comfort of their own homes.

Due to popular demand Channel O has decided to extend the #lockdownHouseParty to bring more of their favourite DJs; Kabza De Small, Culoe De Song, Sculptured Music with special guest performances by Kwesta and Emtee.

The #LockdownHouseParty extension kicks off from this weekend, June 5 and 6, making this the ultimate virtual lockdown gathering of some of South Africa’s biggest DJs.
