Lira, Tbo Touch among first cohort of creatives enrolled for new Regenesys MBA

Radio personality Thabo 'Tbo Touch' Molefe and  singer Lira are among the first well-known faces set to join a cohort of professionals registered for the new MBA programme tailored by the Regenesys Business School for the creative industry.

The two-year programme was launched early in March at the Regenesys Business School in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The degree is the first of its kind in the country and is aimed at strengthening the leadership and management capabilities required- from those working in the creative industry – to effectively manage a business, government and non-profit organisations.

These include individuals, managers and chief executive officers working in a wide range of creative disciplines, be it  marketing, adverting, public relations or communications, music, film, visual arts and even journalism.” In addition to core modules that focus on generic management competencies, participants will attend elective modules which include case studies, concepts and contexts specifically from the creative field, focusing on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship,” reads a prescription of the course.

In attendance (L to R): Actress Lerato Mvelase, rapper and Idols SA host Proverb, singer Lira, radio personalities Tbo Touch and Penny Lebyane.

Speaking exclusively to NOWinSA, multi-awarding singer Lira said that given her extensive experience as a musician, as well as her deep passion for both the music business and creative industry in general, it’s a natural progression for her to enrol for the MBA (Masters of Business Management) “to equip myself for the next stage of my music career. As you know, learning is a never-ending journey and I’m excited to have registered for this MBA programme alongside Tbo Touch. It not only legitimises what we do as creative professionals, but it gives us the opportunity to combine our existing experience with new skills to advance our careers.”

Ranked among the best business schools in South Africa, with footprints in India and Nigeria, Regenesys Business School has been in existence since 1999 and offers over 100 multi accredited list of postgraduate and undergraduate courses and higher certificates, top among them is the Masters and Doctorate of Business Management and Masters of Public Management.

The institution’s newly launched MBA for the Creative Industry will not only ensure that participants gain global competitive knowledge by being exposed to an extensive network of internationally influential creative leaders, be it as tutors or mentors. Earning an MBA can lead to career advancement, resulting in an increased earnings almost double to what they’re earning prior to their MBA qualification.
