WATCH: dramatic blitz to reclaim Johannesburg – law enforcement takes on drug lords and illegal immigrants in high-stakes operation

Johannesburg’s CBD is under siege—but this time, it’s the criminals running scared. Watch as law enforcement launches a high-stakes blitz, targeting drug lords and illegal immigrants in a bold move to reclaim the city. Led by MMC Mgcini Tshwaku and Crime Fighter Xolani Khumalo, this is the operation shaking Johannesburg to its core!

The heart of Johannesburg’s CBD was thrust into chaos—but this time, it wasn’t the criminals calling the shots.

In a dramatic and unprecedented move, law enforcement and key stakeholders launched ‘Operation Nomakanjani Manje Namhlanje’, a high-impact raid targeting the city’s most pressing issues: drug dealers, illegal immigrants, and hijacked buildings.

Led by the fearless MMC of Safety and Security, Mgcini Tshwaku, and renowned Crime Fighter TV personality Xolani Khumalo, the operation saw a coalition of forces, including the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD), South African Police Service (SAPS), and the Xolani Khumalo Foundation, descend upon Hillbrow and the MTN Noord Taxi Rank.

The mission? To reclaim the city from the grip of lawlessness.

The results were immediate and electrifying. Multiple arrests were made as the team swept through the area, leaving no stone unturned. But the operation didn’t stop there. In a bold move, the team inspected and served notices to hijacked buildings, including Wellington Court on Leyds Street. The message was clear: the city is taking back control.

As the notices were served, residents of these hijacked buildings began packing up and leaving on their own—a testament to the operation’s unyielding force. “We are determined to reclaim the Inner City CBD,” declared MMC Tshwaku, his voice echoing the resolve of a city tired of being held hostage by crime.

The operation comes at a critical time, as President Cyril Ramaphosa recently expressed his disappointment with the state of Johannesburg. During the G20 meetings held in the city last week, the President described it as “disheartening” to witness Johannesburg in such disarray. But with operations like

Nomakanjani Manje Namhlanje, the city is sending a powerful message: the tide is turning.

This is more than just a raid—it’s a declaration of war on crime. And as the dust settles, one thing is clear: Johannesburg is fighting back, and it’s a fight they intend to win.
