Why Daily Lotto is easier to win than PowerBall and Lotto Plus
Daily Lotto costs R3 per board. Players choose five numbers from 1 to 36, either manually or through Quick Pick, and win by matching at least two numbers.
Its smaller number pool gives players jackpot odds of 1 in 376,992 — considerably better than the 1 in 20,358,520 odds for Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 Max, or 1 in 33,900,160 for PowerBall and PowerBall Xtra.

Daily Lotto also differs from PowerBall because its jackpot does not roll over to the next draw.
If nobody matches all five numbers, the top prize rolls down to the next qualifying division.
Draws take place every night except Christmas Day, at 9pm.
Official ticket sales close at 8.30pm, although Capitec and Nedbank app users face a 8.25pm cut-off
Players can verify their tickets on the official National Lottery results portal. Prizes must be claimed within 365 days of the draw date.
