‘The Expresso Morning Show’ among 5 South African shortlists for Content Innovation Awards 2020

Proudly South African television shows, 'Tropika Island Of Treasure', 'Presenter Search On 3', 'The Next Brand Ambassador', 'The Taste Master SA' and 'The Expresso Morning Show' have all been shortlisted in this year’s Content Innovation Awards in the UK in December. The shows will compete against massive global hits such as 'Lego Masters Australia', 'MasterChef UK', 'Temptation Island', 'RuPaul's Drag Race' and 'Dancing With The Stars'.

Cardova Productions snatched up five nominations across multiple categories for this year’s Content Innovation Awards, making them not the only South African production company to be nominated in this year’s ceremony, but among productions with the most nominations.

Content Innovation Awards released the 2020 shortlist ahead of their annual award ceremony due to take place on December 3 this year in London. 

Now in its sixth year, this highly-coveted awards programme celebrates innovation in content, distribution and the wide-ranging achievements of the companies/individuals who are helping transform today’s global television industry.

Tropika Island Of Treasure: Curaçao‘ is nominated in one of the programme’s biggest categories for Entertainment Format of the Year and competes against ‘Lego® Masters‘, ‘MasterChef‘, ‘Secret for a Million‘, ‘Viva RaiPlay! & VivaAsiago10!’, ‘Extreme Cuisine‘ and ‘Que História É Essa, Porchat? (What’s Your Story?)‘.

Meanwhile, ‘Presenter Search on 3: Expresso Edition‘ is nominated for Reality TV Format of the Year alongside massive global reality series like ‘Temptation Island‘, ‘Survivor‘, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race‘, ‘Dancing With The Stars‘ and ‘Boez – Andiamo via (Boez – Let’s go away)‘.

The Next Brand Ambassador‘ and ‘The Taste Master SA‘ have secured nods in the Competition Show of the Year category and will battle it out against ‘The Block‘, ‘MasterChef UK‘, ‘Lego Masters Australia‘, ‘Interior Design Masters‘ and ‘Holey Moley‘.

Finally, everyone’s favourite breakfast show ‘The Expresso Morning Show‘, wowed in the digital space as it scores a nomination in the Best Use of Social category alongside ‘Midsomer Murders‘, ‘Rolê Gloob de Férias‘, ‘Miraculous Day‘, ‘The Masked Singer UK‘, ‘Mesa Para Todos (Table For All)’ and ‘Quebrando o Tabu (Breaking The Taboo)’.

Judged by industry leaders from across the world, the Content Innovation Awards has cemented itself as one of the leading awards programme in the global television space.

The Taste Makers SA has secured a nod in the Show of the Year category
