Crown Gospel Awards 2021 nominee announcement

With entry submissions for the 14th annual The Crown Gospel Music Awards having officially closed on September 30, organisers of the annual gospel awards convention has now put aside Sunday, October 10 as the day for nominees' big reveal.

Nominees for the 2021 edition will be streamed live on the awards’ Facebook and YouTube pages on the day. This means, starting on Sunday (October 10), members of the public will have a say and get to vote for their favourite gospel musicians or songs in various categories ahead of the official awards ceremony on Sunday, November 28, 2021 on SABC2, 8pm.

“We are amped and excited to be celebrating gospel music this year. 2020 was our first virtual awards and embracing the new world order. This year we have adjusted to the era of virtual awards. We are looking forward to a spectacular event that recognises the year’s best performances, honors gospel icons, showcases heavenly voices, and acknowledges instrumental individuals that fuel our faith and glorify God”, said awards founder Zanele Mbokazi.

Hosted under the theme #ChristOurHopeOfGlory, gospel music fans will be treated to an entertaining awards show with winners selected in 29 categories with the return of Salt Award, bestowed to the trailblazer who has done well exceedingly well by playing an influential role in society. 

In the advent of Covid-19, this year organisers have reduced the number of people who will be attending the pre-recorded show on November 12 to only 300 people.
