Meister Young Stunna serious about spreading ‘Amapiano love’ to the world

Young Stunna is the latest Amapiano artist to join forces with world's leading liqueur brand, Jägermeister, in a move that will not only propel the 'Adiwele' hitmaker to the pinnacle of his craft, but ensure that the South African-birthed sound spread to all the corners of the world.

Just months after becoming the newest addition to Jägermeister South Africa’s roster of Amapiano global brand ambassador, joining the likes of Uncle Waffles, DBN Gogo and Focalistic among others as they continue to spread the infectious Amapiano love to the rest of the world, Young Stunna shows no sign of slowing down.

Ever since the Daveyton-born Amapiano hitmaker blessed us with ‘Adiwele‘ in 2021 along with his multi-platinum selling debut album ‘Notumato‘, his star continues to shine over and above the culture itself, all thanks to his partnership with Jägermeister, which took shape more recently through the Afro Nation Festival Miami takeover in June.

“Young Stunna and Jägermeister collaboration ‘Young Meister’ is here man, so they got me into the family with DBN Gogo, Waffles and Focalistic,” the ‘Bopha‘ hitmaker said as he excitedly unpack the #AmapianoToTheWorld tour and this partnership during a recent get-together in Craighall, Johannesburg.

Seal of approval: Young Stunna’s partnership with Jägermeister took shape more recently through the Afro Nation Festival takeover leg in Miami in June, along fellow Meisters Focalistic and DBN Gogo (left).

“It’s a blessing for us who are actually into business as well – besides the music – and anybody who is inspired by this. So I’m paving the way as well, and besides the music I’m excited and proud to be contributing towards the culture, and representing the people who came up with Amapiano … being introduced to it, and falling in love with Amapiano makes me feel truly blessed,” he said, adding: “So yeah, Jägermeister is part of my family … they’re part of my journey. Everything I’m doing, they’re going to be part of it, 24/7.”

A year before getting Jägermeister’s nod of approval, Young Stunna was welcomed into the Amapiano family by South Africa’s very own Amapiano kings themselves, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza de Small, both of whom he looked up to when growing up.

As a rising Amapiano star and cultural influencer with an authentic South African-birthed sound, Young Stunna’s unique music style and ghetto fabulous personality aligns perfectly with Jägermeister’s values (‘we are bold, social, masterful and authentic’) and heritage.

The Young Meister will work with the world-class digestif brand to inspire and contribute to Amapiano’s unrivaled culture and influence globally through campaigns and inclusive initiatives.

Young Meister collabo; connecting Amapiano artists with the people

As a brand that believes in nurturing and supporting emerging talent, Jägermeister is committed to being part of the ever-rising global Amapiano movemenet with its “Meister” initiative, helping emerging local artists reach the pinnacle of their craft in the process.

“Jägermeister is part of my family … they’re part of my journey. Everything I’m doing, they’re going to be part of it, 24/7” – Young Meister

While many brands traditionally focuses on promoting chart-topping hits, the German Liquer maker believes that the true essence of making a heartfelt impact in the music industry lies in the connection artists make with the core of their genre. “In the case of Amapiano, it is the people who are the heart of the movement. They own the culture and drive it forward, making them the backbone of the Amapiano genre”, the company said in a statement.

“Jägermeister’s Amapiano partnership is a testament to their belief in the power of this genre and the cultural impact it has. Just like shots of Jägermeister, Amapiano cannot be fully enjoyed alone. It is through sharing and connecting that we bring more people to experience the Jägermeister KÜHL side of life.”

By joining forces with Young Stunna, the company aims to amplify the reach and impact of amapiano to the world, in line with #ATTW social media movement and share the Amapiano love. The partnership will allow Young Stunna, real name Sandile Msimango, to showcase his unique music offering and connect with a wider audience.
