South African DJ Black Coffee involved in ‘serious’ plane crash

Johannesburg – Internationally acclaimed South African DJ Black Coffee who is on tour overseas has been involved in a severe travel accident. 

The DJ, whose real name is Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, was en route on a flight to a scheduled show.

The Grammy Award-winning DJ is receiving medical attention following an accident on a flight while on his way to his scheduled show in Mar Del Plata in Argentina.

Although details of what happened remained sketchy, it was confirmed on his Instagram page, that the incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injuries.

According to a post on his Instagram account as shown below, he is receiving the best medical care and recovering well. 

Alleged pictures and videos of the plane crash are doing rounds on social media, and fortunately there was no explosion.

South Africans wishes DJ Black Coffee speedy recovery

Throngs of South Africans have taken to the social media to wish the ‘Superman‘ hitmaker a speedy recovery, among them Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Minister, Zizi Kodwa, who shared this message on X (formerly Twitter) : “I wish you a speedy recovery @RealBlackCoffee. You have done so much to elevate South African music and take it to the world.”

The EFF, and multitudes of devoted local have taken to the social media to wish DJ Black Coffee a swift recovery.

The globally renowned South African DJ, record producer, and songwriter has won multiple accolades for his music, including the Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 64th annual Grammy Awards for his seventh studio album, ‘Subconsciously‘. He is the first African entertainer to win this category.
