FOR 12 WEEKS starting tomorrow (Thursday), viewers will be introduced to the emotions that go into unearthing some of South Africa’s future footballers. To help dwindle down the best perfoming talent to the final 18 member team, thousands of young hopefuls will be put to the test by the best in the business, including Doctor “16V” Khumalo, Jerry “Legs of Thunder” Sikhosana and Khabo Zondo.
The team will go on to play a Ke Yona Challenge fixture against 2019 Nedbank Cup champions and South Africa’s CAF Confederation Cup representatives, TS Galaxy, later this year, giving this year’s finalists the chance to compete professionally. To find out what actually goes on behind finding the country’s next football stars, a process Mzansi Magic spokesperson Philly Kubheka describes as “unending backroom drama”, viewers will have to tune in to DStv channel 126 at 9.30pm sharp every Thursday for the next three months.
