It’s business unusual for the esteemed “Castle Lite Unlocks”

As COVID-19 lockdowns lead to increased demand for streaming of live concerts across the globe, everyone's favourite beer brand, Castle Lite, has heed the call to reinvent by extending its famed "Unlocks" offering to now include in-home digital entertainment.

With the lockdown extended in South Africa, and everyone forced to stay indoors to help mitigate the novel coronavirus, Castle Lite has taken the decision to keep local music lovers entertained, with a new series of 30-minute livestream sessions called, “Castle Lite Unlocks in Bed With …”

Launching on Wednesday, April 15, the not-to-missed sessions will bring SA hip-hop fans a taste of what they’ve come to love about the famed Castle Lite Unlocks, into a memorable jam-packed digital experience.

Hosted live from the Castle Lite South Africa’s YouTube channel, the first series, Castle Lite Unlocks in Bed With ‘Sway‘, will see the famed media personality and American hip-hop aficionado, Sway Calloway, setting the tone for what is to become known as the most interactive, lockdown live music show to ever hit Mzansi.

Not new to touring our shores, the influential reporter and host of ‘Sway in the Morning’ on Eminem’s Shade 45 hip-hop radio channel, hosted the poetry-packed Sway Cold Cyphers during the 2019 Castle Lite Unlocks.

Next up is a must-see performance by the multi-award-winning rapper, Nasty C – live from his home studio. The newly signed Def Jam recording artist will most likely not be flying solo, and may surprise fans with a special guest-star during his performance.

As if this is not entertaining enough, a special appearance by rapper and television presenter Moozlie will also be in the mix, and likewise she promises to entertain audiences in the most unfiltered way ever seen.

Add to this, another special performance by one of Cape Town’s most talked about live atomic acts, The Kiffness, as he takes his game to another level. What more can local hip-hop fanatics ask for!

Same epic Unlocks experience “on a different scale”

Excited to venture into this new digital entertainment territory, here’s what Castle Lite brand director Silke Bucker, had to say:

“We want to continue contributing to this genre’s already-massive footprint by bringing it all home; the same epic experience Castle Lite Unlocks is known for, on a different scale, in your home.”

This bold new move, he added, will also allow Castle Lite to continue making a bigger contribution to African hip-hop.

“We are excited to be venturing into new territory as we establish a digital entertainment platform to satisfy your need for entertainment during the extended lockdown period.”

Make a date!

The “Castle Lite Unlocks in Bed With …” premiers at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 15 live on the CastleLiteSA YouTube channel.

The performance highlights will then be available online and can be watched on the channel even after the show has ended.
