REMA pulls out of Hey Neighbour festival due to health scare

Years of non-stop touring and ever busy schedule performance across the globe has taken a toll on Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema as he pulls out of the Hey Neighbour Festival in Pretoria this weekend due to 'physical and mental health concerns'. Organisers have also confirmed two more artist withdrawals have also announced from the festival.

Organisers of the upcoming Hey Neighbour Festival, set to take place this weekend, regretfully announce the withdrawal of Rema from the festival’s line-up due to health reasons.

In addition, Duckwrth is currently dealing with Vertigo, while JZYNO, unfortunately, won’t be able to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, the statement further reads.

The festival team received this news from Rema’s management team last Wednesday. On the same day, the multi-award winning musician announced on his 6 million plus Instagram followers he’s cancelling all December performances to focus on his health. “Breaks my heart to say I won’t be performing anywhere this December, been years of touring. I’ve ignored my health and it’s time to recuperate,” he shared.

Born Divine Ikubor 23 years ago, the music star, who is known for his international hit song ‘Calm Down‘ was billed to perform on the Hey Neighbour stage on Saturday (December 9).
