How to play: Court ruling and changes under Sizekhaya
Daily Lotto costs R3 per board (5 numbers from 1 to 36).
PowerBall costs R10 per line (5 numbers from 1 to 50, plus 1 PowerBall from 1 to 16), with PowerBall Xtra available for an additional R5.
All draws take place at 9pm, with ticket sales closing at 8.30pm (or 8.25pm on Capitec and Nedbank apps).
Will the recent court ruling affect the lottery? No.
The North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria recently set aside the decision to award the Fourth National Lottery licence to Sizekhaya Holdings, ordering Minister Parks Tau to reconsider the award within 12 months.
Crucially, the court suspended the invalidity order for two consecutive six-month periods, meaning Sizekhaya continues to operate the National Lottery and all draws remain secure.
If you are wondering about the odds, Daily Lotto offers the best jackpot odds of any National Lottery game, at 1 in 376,992.
That compares with 1 in 20,358,520 for Lotto, and 1 in 33,900,160 for PowerBall and PowerBall Xtra.
Also, remember that PowerBall Plus was replaced by PowerBall Xtra following the June 2026 takeover. Read the full rules and pricing changes here.
