Joaquín Niemann has secured his ninth LIV Golf individual title on Sunday, winning LIV Golf New York by three shots as Crushers GC staged a comeback to claim their 11th team championship.
The result adds to a busy season for the league, which has already confirmed its 2027 South African return after Bryson DeChambeau won at Steyn City earlier this year.
Niemann, the Torque GC captain, finished on 16-under after rounds of 64, 65, 70 and 69 at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey.
He finished three shots ahead of Harold Varner III.
Niemann completes wire-to-wire LIV Golf New York win
Niemann carried the lead into the final round and closed with a two-under 69 to secure his second LIV Golf victory of 2026.
Varner shot a one-under 70 to finish alone in second at 13-under. Scott Vincent and Lee Westwood shared third on nine-under, while Byeong Hun An finished fifth at seven-under.
Niemann said the pressure of leading only sharpened his focus.
“I definitely like the feeling. It’s not going to last forever; it’s probably going to go away in a couple hours. But I just love the pressure, love being in those moments.”
The victory extends Niemann’s record number of LIV Golf individual wins to nine.
Crushers GC rally for 11th team title
Crushers GC finished at six-over to beat both Legion XIII and Torque GC by two shots.
Paul Casey led the charge with a three-under 68. Bryson DeChambeau, Anirban Lahiri and Charles Howell III also contributed as the team overturned the deficit.
The victory gives Crushers their 11th regular-season team title, extending their record as LIV Golf’s winningest team.
DeChambeau said the team format creates an added incentive for players.
“This is what makes team golf, I think, so much better than just personal individual golf because you’ve got something else to play for.”
The Crushers captain has also discussed his experience at LIV Golf South Africa.
South African fans will also recognise Southern Guards GC, the team formerly known as Stinger GC, following its recent LIV Golf rebrand.
Jon Rahm seals third LIV Golf title
Rahm secured his third consecutive LIV Golf Individual Championship, despite finishing tied 41st in New York after a five-over 76.
The Legion XIII captain entered the tournament with a lead that left his rivals unable to catch him in the season-long race.
Rahm previously won the championship in 2024 and 2025. His latest title came with one regular-season event still remaining.
His 2026 campaign included victories in Hong Kong and Mexico City, along with three runner-up finishes.
Rahm had built a lead of more than 200 points over Bryson DeChambeau heading into LIV Golf New York. The Spaniard therefore secured the season title despite his difficult final round at Bedminster.
The official LIV Golf standings reflect Rahm’s position at the top of the season-long championship race.
His result in Bedminster marked his worst finish of the season. Rahm finished eight over par for the tournament but had already done enough to secure the championship before the final regular-season event in Indianapolis.
The league now turns towards its next phase, including plans for a 250,000-attendee South African event in 2027.
Those plans face questions around infrastructure, ticket access and the balance between commercial growth and fan access, according to LIV Golf’s 2027 South Africa plans.
