Classic Carroll Shelby race cars reign supreme at ‘Ford V Ferrari’ junket

Ahead of the cinematic release of 'Ford V Ferrari' in South Africa later this month, Shelby South Africa treated a variety of media and racing experts to an unforgettable adrenaline-filled action at Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria on Wednesday.

GUESTS were treated to an adrenalin-packed morning of passenger rides in one of the four Shelby cars – the Cobra, Daytona, GT40 or Supersnake – as well as outdoor gokart racing for hardcore racing fans and a full motion simulator competition, a Le Mans replica Scalectrix track with cars from the Ford V Ferrari film.

“A film this big and emotional along with heart-stopping car racing just lent itself to partnering with a brand like Shelby South Africa – a partner with a heritage and passion for innovation,” said Cameron Hogg, content executive for Empire Entertainment who is distributing the film in South Africa.

Next, Shelby South Africa will host the Ford V Ferrari premiere events in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town launching the Shelby Legendary cars brand in South Africa.
