Christmas comes early for top SA actress as she bags Foschini festive deal

Award-winning South African actress Zola Nombona gives NOWinSA the lowdown on what her new Foschini All Woman partnership means, and how she plans to use it to start the much-needed dialogue around ethical fashion.

Award winning South African actress Zola Nombona has been named the newest ‘All Woman’ brand ambassador for retail fashion giant Foschini for the 2022/23 season, which kicks off this festive season with the ‘Buyela’ekhaya’ campaign.

The news were first shared by the former “Generations – The Legacy‘ herself on Instagram, where she referred to Foschini “Buyel’ekhay’ partnership as a dream come true.

“Buyel’ekhaya My dream has come full circle. From the little girl in Matatiele with a big dream to watching it come true. I am proud to announce that I am the #Foschini brand ambassador!! Im honoured to carry the heritage of a brand that I love @FoschiniSA #FoschinixZola” shared the actress.

This week, the Eadtern Cape born actress gave us the lowdown on what the partnership means, and how she plans to use it to start the much-needed dialogue around ethical fashion.

NOWinSA: Congratulations on your appointment as Foschini’s new brand ambassador. Takes us through what your responsibilities would entail in this regard? 

Zola Nombona: My duties for Foschini is to carry the brand with vigour, excitement and great energy. To share the amazing clothes, beauty products, accessories and perfumes that Foschini offers. My role is to be a living example of a Foschini woman and do that with the outmost authentic collaboration that is true to the Foschini and Zola Nombona brand.

NOWinSA: Working with a reputable fashion household name such as Foschini, how to do see you yourself coming in, in terms of helping lead the way in starting a dialogue around ethical fashion?

Zola Nombona: By being the ambassador of Foschini, I am the physical mouthpiece of the brand. I would lead the dialogue of ethical fashion through campaigns I will do with Foschini on social media platforms, as well as through possible in-store meet-and-greet events. 

NOWinSA: Oftentimes, brand ambassadors find themselves having to work longer hours and are expected to always be enthusiastic and energetic. As a woman of many different hats (jobs), how do you stay motivated in your work?

Zola Nombona: What keeps me motivated through wearing many hats is the purpose of the brands/jobs that I am working on. I enjoy working on jobs that will yield great impact on me, my supporters as well as the industry at large.
