Galaxy Unpacked countdown: most epic reveals you can’t afford to miss

With the Samsung Unpacked a few days away, head of Marketing at Samsung Mobile Experience Business division, discusses how this year’s event will embrace the next normal, and essentially how the next generation of the foldables would be look like as we await the official unveiling of both Galaxy Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.

While both the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 took the title of the best foldable phones in their respective categories undisputed when they launched in 2021, the bending-mobile market has never been busier since then, with the likes Oppo Find N, Honor Magic V and Huawei P50 Pocket having launched.

Given Samsung’s tremendous success in the foldable market for the most part of 2021, it goes without saying that the next version will need to really impress if the Korea tech giant intends to keep its winning trajectory.

Here’s how the big reveal – of the next generation of foldables – would be like come August 10.

A Greater Galaxy Experience

For over a decade, Samsung Galaxy Unpacked events have been the culmination of innovation, engineering and celebration — bringing together Galaxy community from all over the world to unveil the latest Samsung Galaxy innovations and this year won’t. To understand this, look no further than the previous Unpacked, a multifaceted event which covered everything from the new Galaxy S22 flagship series, complete with an S Pen (the Ultra S22), to the Galaxy Tab S8, and even Samsung’s partnership with South Korean boyband BTS to launch and expand its sustainable efforts, which saw the introduction of new Samsung devices made with repurposed ocean-bound discarded fishing nets.

Leaked ahead of August 10th Galaxy Unpacked 2022 launch event, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 reportedly features a lighter body, and slightly wider screens.

Leading up to the next Unpacked experience, Samsung has just launched the ‘greater than‘ campaign (below), teasing a world made greater than before with the imminent launch of the new foldable devices. The universal ‘greater than’ symbol (>) represents how our foldables’ unique form factor doesn’t just change shape, they change how users interact with its devices.

Defying expectations of what smartphones are capable of yet again, Samsung is bringing new ways to work, play and capture life through this new series.

Bringing the Best of Hybrid

This year’s strategy embraces a new age of Unpacked. It takes the best of on and offline events and makes them even better. The company is doing so by introducing new immersive and experiential event spaces that will allow consumers around the world to get hands-on and explore our products in a fun, creative, engaging and immersive setting.

Greater Than’ campaign teaser!

The experience will take over spaces in the hearts of London’s Piccadilly Circus and New York’s Meatpacking District — two neighbourhoods that match the energy and excitement of Samsung’s upcoming announcements. “These events will unite Galaxy fans, journalists, partners, and Samsung employees from all over the world and allow them to explore the latest Samsung products and innovations like never before,” Samsung SA said in a statement.

The best is “Yet to Come”

Hot on the heels of the latest release of S22’s iconic product colourway, the Bora Purple, which embraces diversity and optimism, likewise Samsung will be painting the town purple come August 10.

Samsung and BTS will partner for an unmissable trans-Atlantic premier of ‘Yet to Come’ foldable video on the day.
