A South African mining tycoon has ignited a social media frenzy after unveiling his latest ultra-luxury acquisition: a jaw-dropping Brabus G63 AMG 6×6, worth an estimated R20 million.
The beastly six-wheeled SUV, finished in a sleek Nardo Grey with an eye-catching Tiffany blue interior, belongs to Solomon Soka Madibela—better known as Solly ‘MySol’ Madibela—founder and CEO of MySol Holdings & Logistics.
Captured in a viral birthday celebration video, Madibela and his entourage are seen jubilantly unveiling the monstrous SUV, ensuring cameras captured every gleaming angle of the automotive marvel. The internet’s reaction? A storm of admiration, envy, and spirited debate.
“This 6 wheeled monster makes absolutely no sense but is the coolest thing ever,” remarked @race1 in a reposted clip online (Instagram), echoing the general fascination with the rare vehicle.

Based on the already audacious Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6, this Brabus-tuned edition is a unicorn on wheels. Featuring a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine upgraded by Brabus to deliver a thunderous 515 kW and 960 Nm of torque, the six-wheeled colossus is more than just show. Its portal axles offer a staggering 460 mm ground clearance, giving it military-grade off-road capability. A carbon-fibre hood scoop, widened fenders, roof-mounted LED bar, and beadlock 18-inch wheels clad in rugged off-road tyres complete its commanding exterior.
Embodying the aura of sheer power and sophistication synonymous with the Mercedes-Benz’ 63 family of performance-oriented AMG models (C 63, E 63, G 63, and GT 63), inside the Tiffany blue leather and Alcantara finishes transform the vehicle’s cabin into a bold, luxurious sanctuary. With only a handful of these monsters in the country—reportedly fewer than three—the Brabus 6×6 is the very definition of exclusivity.
“Whether admired or debated, the six-wheeled G-Wagon did exactly what it was meant to—demand attention,” reads a popular social media post.

Madibela’s purchase follows in the footsteps of other high-profile owners, including businessman Zunaid Abbas Moti, whose similar Brabus 6×6 model stunned onlookers. The ultra-rare G63 Grand Edition variant, limited to just 1,000 units globally (with 20 allocated to South Africa), further amplifies the mystique surrounding the G-Class lineup.
But MySol’s luxury lifestyle isn’t just for show. Madibela, 44, is one of the mining sector’s most respected figures, with over three decades of hands-on experience in open-cast mining. His company, MySol Holdings, has spearheaded major projects like the Buffelsfontein West Open-cast Mine for Samancor, underpinned by seasoned professionals with decades of combined industry experience.
He is also widely recognised for his philanthropic efforts through the MySol Foundation, which provides bursaries, driving and equipment operation training, and essentials like food parcels and school uniforms to disadvantaged communities. His dual identity as a business titan and a community benefactor makes him a polarising but undeniably influential figure.
While many hailed him as a source of inspiration—“a true example of Black excellence,” according to one fan—others voiced concern over the optics of flaunting wealth in a country still grappling with inequality.
Nevertheless, Madibela’s R20 million birthday gift to himself has sparked national conversation, not just about luxury, but about the legacy of leadership, ambition, and giving back.

In a market slowly shifting towards electric vehicles, the Mercedes-AMG G63 remains an icon—loud, powerful, and unmissable. And so too does Solly Madibela: a man who, love him or question him, is helping shape South Africa’s story today.
